| Sometime ago, as part of a Faculty development program,we had invited Maitreyi to speak to our participants. This was in connection with a program on systems thinking. Systems thinking is the ability to look at things holistically instead of in bits and pieces. Systems thinking teaches us that everything in the world is connected to everything else.
We had invited Maitreyi to tell us all about yoga and how Yoga also emphasises connections. She spoke for three hours and enthralled us with lucid examples of connections within the body and the connection between man and the universe. She told us about cause and effect .She also told us about how different types of food affect our bodies and mind. She told us how posture has a direct bearing on back and related pain. She taught us how to relieve pain. She also taught the participants easy excercises which they could practice
even in their work area.
All in all, Maitreyi gave us the impression that her understanding of yoga was complete. She was as passionate about sharing her knowledge as she was about the subject itself. She made us believe in a system that was close to her heart.
At the end of the session all of us were full of energy and were anxious to know more about yoga. Maitreyi is a very knowledgeable person. She is pleasant, energetic and passionate. I have been recommending her program to everyone who is interested in Yoga.
Regards,
Shiva.
