Tantra is a moment to moment living in love. Everything we do with the body like moving, walking, eating, defecating is done with meditative awareness. It allows us to operate less and less from conditioning and more from being the witness. This creates a gateway to tap into our essence. The cultivation of karuna sakshi bhava or compassionate witnessing is the crux of both real yoga and tantra. This compassionate witnessing allows us to also be immersed in the experience, without identification from a space of true union rather than craving or obsessiveness. In craving or addiction too one sees no separation and is consumed by the object of desire and hence it is easy to confuse it with true oneness.

Sankalpa as we saw in the last blog is aligned with the highest truth. It is a life resonant with the cosmic heart. Even if we do not have an experience of our wholeness we place our trust in masters or those who have experienced it and tell us we are essentially whole. If we cannot place our trust in anyone because we feel betrayed and wounded we can think of it as an experiment to shift and uplift the whirlpool of unresolved emotion or the cycle of wounding and betrayal we might be stuck in.

Wishing everyone a year filled with ease, grace and many blessings. We have heard of new year’s resolutions and used them many times. A resolution requires will power to move away from that which does not serve us or the goals we think we need to reach. It has the element of motivating ourselves to reach certain milestones.

A sankalpa is a sanskrit word that has its root meaning in kalpana. Kalpana is imagination, an idea, a dream, a vision. San and sat means truth. So sankalpa is a dream or vision aligned with the truth. This is the truth of one's being and the truth that is the song in one's heart that sings in tune with the cosmic heart.
