🌟 Join us in Creating Change! 🌟

At Arkaya Foundation, we believe healing creates ripple effects. When one person is empowered with transformative tools for healing, entire communities benefit.

This is why we are raising funds for Rodrigo from La Paz, Bolivia. He is this year’s recipient of an Arkaya Foundation scholarship to join the Embodied Expansion Certification Program—a 2-year, 500-hour live online teacher training in full-spectrum, decolonized Yoga & Tantra.

Rodrigo is already a dedicated healer with deep roots in integrative medicine. He has trained in Traditional Tibetan Medicine, as well as Andean and Amazonian healing traditions, and already incorporates movement, breathwork, and holistic lifestyle practices into his healing work with patients.

What drew him to Arkaya was the authenticity and depth of the practice. In his words, “what drew me in the most is that it’s a program, a style, a yoga school that’s really authentic and very complete.” He describes the practice as something that “feels really good in the body, in the heart,” while also offering the emotional depth and challenges that support real transformation.

Rodrigo’s vision goes far beyond his own personal growth. After completing the certification, he plans to integrate Arkaya’s embodied healing practices into his work with patients in Bolivia - offering practical tools for nervous system regulation, movement, breath, emotional resilience, and holistic wellbeing. His goal is to make authentic, trauma-informed wellness practices more accessible in his community, where economic barriers often make this kind of training difficult to access.

Arkaya Foundation is a federally and provincially registered non-profit in Canada and a registered charitable organization in India. Arkaya, in Sanskrit, means “the light that inspires awe and heals.” Our mission is to make India’s indigenous yoga and healing sciences accessible to communities in British Columbia and around the world, helping people reconnect with their whole being - body, emotions, mind, life-force, and spirit - while honouring earth-based wisdom traditions and supporting healing, empowerment, and meaningful community connection.

The other students in Rodrigo's cohort invested $6,500 CAD to fully cover the cost of this in-depth 2-year program. Due to the current economic realities in Bolivia, this amount presents a significant barrier for Rodrigo. Your donation will help remove that obstacle so Rodrigo can fully commit to his studies without financial strain and complete his certification. Every donation directly supports Rodrigo’s training and the expansion of healing tools into communities that may not otherwise have access. Whether you give a little or a lot, your contribution becomes part of something much bigger.

As a thank you for supporting this fundraiser, Arkaya Foundation would love to offer meaningful gifts aligned with our mission of healing and embodied wellbeing.

“What drew me in the most is that (Arkaya) is a program, a style, a yoga school that’s really authentic and very complete. Practicing it is very relaxing. It feels really good in the body, in the heart, and for me it’s very complete, very authentic.

It even gets difficult at times — emotionally — and I’m getting a really good system of exercises that I’m incorporating into my daily workout routine, along with certain things I can share with other people.

I’ve studied Tibetan medicine. I graduated in traditional Tibetan medicine. I also have some training in Andean and Amazonian medicine. I think Arkaya yoga is really easy to add as a complement to these medicinal practices.

I feel quite committed to the daily practice of yoga. I think I’ll be able to help my patients, especially as part of the medical recommendations I give them. There are always exercises, lifestyle habits, and so on. And a lot of what I’m learning is easy to incorporate into the treatment of my patients.

It (the fundraiser) can also help me pay for the studies for the yoga teacher training. At the moment, I’m dealing with a financial situation. It’s tough here in my country, and it would be a big help.”
