This Indigenous Peoples Day, join Indigenous Métis herbalist and author LoriAnn Bird and Yogacharini Maitreyi for The Wisdom of Healing Plants, a free online webinar presented by Banyen Books and Arkaya Foundation as part of the Decolonizing Dialogues series.

Taking place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Pacific Time), this special conversation explores the sacred wisdom of healing plants within First Nations and Indian traditions. Through stories and ancestral teachings, participants will discover how Indigenous cultures have long understood plants as powerful allies in healing, balance, and connection with the Earth.

Through stories, teachings, and cross-cultural dialogue, participants will explore ancestral plant wisdom, seasonal awareness, Indigenous healing traditions, and reciprocal ways of relating to the natural world.

Mindful Movement, Mantra & Meditation: A Healing Journey

Heal through the nuances of conscious movement, breath & energy practices, cathartic sound, correct pronunciation and toning of mantra, and other tools from the traditions of South India. Learn to prepare the body and mind for meditation rather than forcing or suffering silence and stillness. 

This exploration of mindful movement (physical and pranic), mantra and meditation will open and heal all the prana naadis (energy flows). It will also release trauma stored in the body.
